You are my everything

Ok, I know the date on this post is Monday but it's really Wednesday :-)

My laptop is back! My laptop is back!!!!!! I couldn't get into blogger at work the other day and was tied up all day today so I'm bailing on eye candy since it's well past Tuesday. I promise that there will be a good one next Tuesday.

Here's a card I whipped up for dh the other night. When I saw the Always set in the new catalog, I knew I had to get it. I can see many, many uses for this set in the future!

I started with a Purely Pomegranate cardbase and added a layer of Soft Sky prints paper to it that I'd scalloped the bottom edge of. I stamped the bird in Purely Pomegranate on Whisper White and then sponged the edges with Soft Sky. This image is matted on Basic Gray. I stamped the A/Always on Whisper White in Purely Pomegranate and then circle punched it and attached it to a punched out Basic Gray circle. Both of these images are up on dimensionals. I tied some Basic Gray Taffeta ribbon underneath the image and then stamped the sentiment in Basic Gray underneath the image. I added a little stamping to the envelope and wrote dh a mushy note inside to let him know how much he means to me. He gives me a hard time about my stamping obsession so every once in awhile, I've gotta make him a card so he can feel appreciated as well.

She's all that!

Happy Thursday all! I'm so happy the weekend is almost here. It's been a busy, busy week and I need a couple days to rest and relax.

Here's a card I made for a friend's birthday. I love the She's All That set in the new Occasions Mini Catalog even though I know some people are criticizing the gals because they're stick thin! Now, I do love the Bellas who are also skinny minis but these gals are easy peasy because you don't have to color them in :-)

I stamped the girl in Close to Cocoa ink on Pretty in Pink Cardstock and then stamped the Skinny Oval by Rubber Soul under her in Pretty in Pink to ground her. I adhered some of the Chunky Sprinkles glitter in Light Pink on the cake, her necklace, and the bow in her hair and then adhered this to a piece of Close to Cocoa cardstock. I scalloped the edge with my small corner rounder. The card base is Textured Purely Pomegranate and the designer paper is from the Berry Bliss collection--I love the various shades of pink and brown! The main image is on dimensionals and then punched a small hole in the side and threaded some Purely Pomegranate Double Stitched ribbon through it. Finally, I attached a pink dew drop to each of the scallops. This was a fun card and it was nice to be able to whip this out after my little slump I've been in lately.

My goodies :-) and some stamping

I've been a little remiss in getting some RAKs posted but better late than never, right? My laptop is still out for repairs so it's hard to do some non-work related stuff on the computer right now. I do want to upload and post a little more and I hope to get my laptop back soon.

The cards are from my wonderful SBS3 sister, Heather Huggins. You should definitely check her blog out. Her coloring is amazing!!!!!!!! I wish I could color as nicely as she does. She's also doing a ribbon share that you might want to check out. I'd join in if I didn't already have ribbon coming out of my ears :-)

The goodies are from Malieta at Life's Simple Pleasures. She's one of my blogging buddies and is super, super sweet. Go check her out, you won't be disappointed.

Finally, I got my winnings from the grand opening at MCC. Look at this loot! I wasn't expecting so many stamp sets!!!! Woohoooooooooo!!!!! These sets have been on my want list since I've seen them at Verve Visual and I'm glad that I won them--free stamps rock!

and believe it or not, I do stamp every once in awhile :-) I joined Twisted Chick's ATC swap and here's my entry. They're going postal later today. The base is Textured River Rock and the diamond shaped pieces on the side are Ruby Red. I stamped the ladybug and sentiment with Versamagic Red Brick and Pink Grapefruit and the dotted trail withClassic River Rock on an embossed Very Vanilla Rectangle. This is matted on a scalloped Groovy Guava rectangle. The little piece of chipboard is cut out from the Cuttlebug Asterisk die and is sponged with Pink Grapefruit ink. There's a clear dew drop in the middle of it. This piece is mounted on dimensionals and tied off with Groovy Guava double-stitched ribbon. I think these ATCs are pretty cute and do admit that even though they look relatively simple, they took more time than my normal cards do. The die cutting took some time plus trying to sponge the little flower embellishments and attach them without them ripping was a bit of a pain :-)

Not Stampin Related

but hilarious nonetheless :-)

I've heard about this video but haven't seen it yet. If you need a little laugh, you may want to check it out. It's the infamous Sarah Silverman video/song that she made for her boyfriend, Jimmy Kimmel. If you offend easily, I suggest you skip this one. It does include former eye candy-Matt Damon :-)

Trying to jump back in the saddle again

I don't like when I haven't really stamped in awhile since it takes me so long to try to figure out what I'm doing. We went to a 1st birthday party on Saturday and I had no idea what I wanted to make. I saw a card very similar to this one made by Kirsten Dubosque in the February Cards magazine and was impressed by how simple yet stunning it was so I decided to CASE it.

I used PapertreyINK's Stamper's Select White for the card base and stamped the images from Beautiful Blooms with Versamagic Dew Drops in Thatched Straw, Mango Madness, Persimmon, Aloe Vera, and Oasis Green on it. The ribbon is some that I got from my Secret Sister in a past round and I think it's by Heidi Grace. The smaller flowers are popped up on dimensionals. I like the way this one turned out :-)

I'm in the middle of laundry and trying to get my stamp room a little cleaned and organized--I moved out to the family room/kitchen counter to make the kids' Valentine's cards (all 72 of them!) and just sort of threw everything back in there when I was done. Maybe getting things put away will motivate me a little more.

Dino Bday

Dino-Mite by MFT is my go to stamp set for boy birthdays. Here's a card I made for a birthday party we went to last weekend. It was for one of dh's high school buddies son who turned 7. I like how it turned out and I think he did as well :-) The party took place at a bowling alley and dh and Miles really enjoyed bowling. Maya did not want to bowl at all so we hung out at the table and watched for the most part.

The card base is Ballet Blue. I stamped the Sanded background stamp in River Rock on River Rock card stock. I distressed the edges and added this to the card base. The image is stamped on Georgia Pacific white card stock with Pallette Hybrid Noir and then colored in with Copics and Copic Spica Glitter Pens. It's matted on Only Orange and Wild Wasabi. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink's Faux Ribbon and is stamped in Ballet Blue ink on Georgia Pacific white. This is circle punched and then matted on an Only Orange circle and Wild Wasabi oval. A few Only Orange eyelets are added to the top corner. I left ribbon off since it's a boy card, ya know!

Here's a closer detail at the colored image.

Did you miss me?

Hi all, I apologize for the lack of posting lately. I've barely been able to get online--I've been in a due process hearing for the past week and haven't had much time to get on at night either--my google reader was so full that it was overwhelming and there's no way that I could catch up on that many blog postings so I apologize for not leaving comments. I'll be back to normal soon!

After my morning meetings, I came home to get some work done because there's a huge protest outside my office. I didn't want to deal with the building lockdown and all the noise. I actually was much more productive here than I would have been in my office.

I'm in the middle of making Valentine's cards for the kids and decided to take a cuttlebugging break to pop in. Here's a card I made for some of my staff members involved in the hearing. They've been great about rearranging their schedules and testifying. Most of them have been a little stressed and anxious about the process so I wanted to let them know I appreciate the work they're doing.

This is my last Paper Pretties card box and I love this stamp. You all know that I'm partial to Rubber Romance and being an educator, I can see this stamp getting much love from me in the future. I love having everything precut--all I had to do was stamp, color, and assemble! Here's the deets: Stamp:Rubber Romance Teacher Cardstock: Bazzil White, Bazzil Black, and ultrasmooth white Designer Paper: CTMH striped, dotted, lettered Ribbon: White with Black stitching Embellishments: Bazzil flowers, Dew Drops, Black photo corners

I stamped the Teacher Stamp in Pallette Hybrid Noir on the ultrasmooth white and colored with Copics and Spica Glitter Pens. Then I assembled--easy peasy!

Thanks for visiting. I'm skipping eye candy this week but will have someone for you next week. Don't forget, you can always suggest some eye candy by emailing me at kathat at pacbell dot net. Take out the spaces, change the 2nd at to @ and the dot to .

Have a great day!
